Rome 1925 – Pisa 1991

is an Italian painter. He is considered one of the most significant protagonists of the Milanese avant-garde of the 1950s, between Spatialism, Abstract-geometric art and the Nuclear movement.
His informal matrix is characterised by Surrealist-derived suggestions, often alluding to changing organic existences.

Worthy of mention are his two solo exhibitions at the Venice Biennale in 1962 and 1966. In the same year, his first participation in the Quadriennale in Rome and Documenta in Kassel. In 1971 an anthological exhibition was organised at the Palazzo Reale in Milan. Important anthological exhibitions were presented at the Museé Galliera, Paris, Palais des Beaux-Art, Brussels, Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Copenhagen. His works are exhibited at the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Rome, MaMbo Museo d’Arte Moderna in Bologna, Museo Novecento in Milan, among others.
