Photo Elysée – Lausanne
14 June – 25 September 2022
Tornabuoni Art is glad to announce the loan of the work ‘L’addio dell’amico che parte all’amico che rimane’ (end of the 1950s) by Giorgio de Chirico for the exhibition ‘Train Zug Treno Tren. Crossing Lines’ held at Photo Elysée in Lausanne.
The exhibition ‘Train Zug Treno Tren. Crossing Lines’ curated by Photo Elysée explores new approaches to railway history for over more than a century and a half, from the earliest train experiences in the 19th century to its uses today.
Composed of nearly 370 works, documents and objects, the show examines the interplay between the expansion of the railroad, the advent of the cinema and the creative endeavors of the artistic and literary avant-garde artists of the first half of the 20th century, paying homage to the former vocation of the venue of Plateforme10, located beside Lausanne’s main train station.
The show is part of the inaugural event ‘Train Zug Treno Tren. Destins croisés / Freie Bahn / Crossing Lines / Coincidenze di percorso’ that is a trio of opening shows organized by the museums MCBA, Photo Elysée, and mudac for the opening of ‘Plateforme 10’, Lausanne’s new arts district.
The exhibition will last until September 25, 2022.
