Bum! Enrico Baj e l’arte Nucleare
MUST, Vimercate
January 26 – May 05 2024
Tornabuoni Art is pleased to participate in the exhibition “BUM! Enrico Baj and Nuclear Art”, running from January 27 to May 5, 2024, at MUST, the museum in Vimercate, by lending three works: two by Enrico Baj, “Figure” (1956) and “Personnage” (1962–1963), and one by Gianni Dova, “Rêve Scenografia per balletto” (1957).
Curated by Simona Bartolena, the exhibition features a selection of 25 works from private collections and galleries, offering an opportunity to explore Enrico Baj’s distinctive style, the communicative power of his creations, and those of the artists who, in the 1950s, shared his aim to profoundly renew painting by transforming and surpassing Informal Art.
The exhibition narrates the development of the Nuclear Movement through a selection of works by the artists who were instrumental in its formation. The movement’s name drew inspiration from the highly topical theme of atomic fission.
Through the exhibition path, visitors are invited to discover the extraordinary boldness of Nuclear Art and the subsequent evolution of Enrico Baj’s work, who was one of the leading figures of this artistic period.
The exhibition will remain open to the public until May 5, 2024.
