For the opening of the new gallery space at 46 Albemarle Street in Mayfair in London, Tornabuoni Art is pleased to present the first solo exhibition by Lucio Fontana.
The extraordinary body of works exhibited in the exhibition will illustrate Lucio Fontana’s most famous series from 1930 until his death in 1968.
The exhibition will include a splendid black and yellow painting from the Barocco series, a prestigious Attese in bianco, and one of the most emblematic aesthetic-gestural works of Fontana: a black velvet with stones from 1956.
This exhibition is the result of many years of research and commitment by Tornabuoni Arte in the promotion, dissemination and enhancement of Lucio Fontana’s work.
The exhibition catalogue will be enriched by essays by Enrico Crispolti, Luca Massimo Barbero and Edward Lucie-Smith.
