Following the success of the stand set up with Plastiche by Alberto Burri (1915-1995) at Art Basel 2018, Tornabuoni Art is pleased to announce a year dedicated to the innovative and radical artistic journey of the Umbrian master.
More than forty years after the last retrospective in France at the National Museum of Modern Art in 1972, the gallery pays tribute to Burri in his space at the Passage de Retz in the Marais.
The exhibition brings together more than 30 works, retracing the entire career of the artist, from his beginnings, following his liberation from the imprisonment of war camp in Texas in 1946, to the last Cellotex of the 90s, through the Sacchi of the fifties, the Legni, Ferri and Combustioni of the sixties, as well as the Cretti of the seventies.
exhibition catalogue edited by Tornabuoni Art and Bruno Corà, published on the occasion of Art Basel 2018. B/w and colored illustrations, 136 pages, 11,2×12,4 in, Italian / English, 2018.
