MILANO ANNI ‘60. Da Lucio Fontana a Piero Manzoni, da Enrico Baj a Bruno Munari
Palazzo delle Paure, Lecco
July 12 – November 24, 2024
Tornabuoni is pleased to participate in the exhibition MILANO ANNI ’60. Da Lucio Fontana a Piero Manzoni, da Enrico Baj a Bruno Munari, which takes place between July 12 and November 24, 2024 at Palazzo delle Paure in Lecco.
Through the loan of the artwork Figure (1956) by Enrico Baj, the gallery contributes to the great retrospective dedicated to the Milan of the Sixties, a decade that was particularly fertile for the Post-war italian art. Curated by Simona Bartolena, conceived and produced by ViDi cultural, in collaboration with the city of Lecco and the lecchesi urban museums group, this exhibition is the last one of a series dedicated to the Italian Novecento aimed at exploring the italian cultural scene of the 20th century.
The exhibition delves into art history through seventy artworks by artists as various as Lucio Fontana, Piero Manzoni, Enrico Baj and Bruno Munari. This selection puts to the spotlight on the avantgardist spirit of the time.
From the end of the Second World War, Milan is the theater of a cultural renaissance. New galleries and exhibitions open while newly-formed artists’ groups look for new forms of art. MILANO ANNI ’60 tells the story of a spectacular decade during which Milan took a fondumental place within the international cultural scene.
A catalog edited by Ponte43 for ViDi cultural publishing accompanies with the exhibition, which is open until November 24, 2024.
